In 2023 we attracted on the Bulgarian market Münzer, the largest Austrian biodiesel producer and used cooking oil collector. We have advised multiple sell-side and fundrasing processes, including an increasing number of clients in negihbouring countries in particular North Macedonia. During the period we have also secured an increasing number of joint mandates with Rothschild & Co.
In 2020 we advised on the acquisition of the largest photovoltaic plant in Bulgaria and asissted a number of large local and international investors on various transactions. In Dec 2020 Dimitar Uzunov and Georgi Vangelov became Partners in the firm.
In 2021 we were able to attract to the Bulgarian market Ringier AG - the largest internationally operating Swiss media company.
In 2018 – 2019 we have advised on some of the most notable transactions on the Bulgarian market, incl. on the conteplated acquisition of electricity distribution assets of CEZ and Sofia Airport concession.
In 2016 we have advised several of our long-term and repetitive clients on their fundraising from leading regional lenders and established investment funds, as well as closed one of the first transactions with Chinese strategic investors.
Entrea Capital continued to introduce innovative financial products to the market. It also managed to attract several investment funds with industrial focus as first-time investors in Bulgaria.
2015 was one of the most successful years for Entrea Capital with a record number of transactions completed accross several sectors, including the attracting of one of the largest food groups in Europe.
Entrea Capital became an exclusive affiliate of Rothschild for Bulgaria. By doing this it obtained access to approximately 1,000 advisers in 54 offices in 40 countries, huge global knowledge and worldwide relationships. The team of Raiffeisen Investment Bulgaria joined Entrea Capital to form the largest dedicated M&A and Investment Banking team on the market.
Entrea Capital advised Prista Oil Group, a leading Bulgarian industrial conglomerate, on an innovative €60 million structured financing, consisting of equity, mezzanine, and debt taken up by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and ADM Capital. It also advised the Bulgarian Energy Holding on the unbundling of the Energy System Operator from the National Electricity Company and the renegotiation of €500 million of outstanding debts in a consortium with Houlihan Lokey, White & Case, and Kambourov & Partners.
Entrea Capital completed several transaction on the market and worked closely with the Invest Bulgaria Agency in order to promote FDI initiatives in key financial centers around the world.
In the beginning of 2010, Entrea Capital joined M&A International as the exclusive representative for Bulgaria. With this, Entrea Capital gained access to the resources of 46 partner firms and 600 M&A professionals around the world. Entrea Capital advised Lavazza, the global coffee maker, on the acquisition of Onda Coffee chain in Bulgaria, alongside Arietti & Partners of Italy. Entrea Capital’s team continued to grow amidst the financial crisis.
With the advent of the financial crisis, Entrea Capital focused its efforts on expanding its service range to provide capital raising services, as well as financial management and restructuring services to Bulgarian companies. Entrea Capital executed the financial turnaround of Bulgaria’s leading TV production company, among others.
Entrea Capital was founded by Rossen Ivanov and Ivaylo Spasov in 2007 with offices in Sofia and New York. Dimitar Kostadinov, former Executive Director of ING Bank Bulgaria, joined the firm as its third managing partner. The firm closed a number of transactions, including the divestment of the South-East Europe operations of Randstad, a global HR firm, to an Austrian strategic investor.
